Navy (Japanese: マイケル Navy) is one of the three main protagonists of Pokémon CNJ; acting as the archrival for Crimson throughout the story. In CNJ, Navy is an aspiring Pokémon Trainer who aims to become Champion of his home region. Armed with a Pokédex he received from Professor Hiraku, a Chimchar he deceived the professor into giving him, and his other assorted Pokémon, Navy travels throughout the Furo region as he takes on the eight Gym Leaders, and later, the Furo League itself. In the meantime, Navy joins Crimson and Jade as they continually confront the criminal syndicates, Team Chi and Team Karakuri.

Navy has expressed the reason he set out to become Champion is because he seeks to be the most powerful Trainer in the region; largely due to events that have stayed with him since childhood.

TriviaEdit

  • Navy was originally a character conceived by Wyvern 0m3g4 for fun, and in response to his younger brother's original trainer, Crimson. Realizing the character's name, Wyvern proceeded to name his trainer Navy. And to give his character a purpose, he designed Navy to be a rival character to Crimson. This formed the basis for Crimson and Navy's relationship in CNJ.
    • Interestingly, Navy and Crimson's names are similar to those of Blue (Green in Japan) and Red's respectively in Generation I of the Pokémon games. The only difference is that Navy and Crimson are named after darker shades of Blue and Red.
    • This also seems to match their relationship with each other, as they're rivals to one another, much like Red and Blue.
  • Navy was designed to behave similarly to competitive Pokémon players in real life. This is because Wyvern greatly dislikes how poorly certain competitive players can act (either towards other players, or towards the Pokémon themselves) and went about making Navy as a cautionary warning and criticism against this particular mindset.
