El Asherah (??? ???) is the supreme ruler of the gods in Wild Hunt; reigning over the entire universe from his/her palace in Heaven. Because of his/her importance in maintaining the universe, El Asherah is a central key figure throughout Wild Hunt; being one of the major catalysts in starting the story's plot, as well as being a major supporting character throughout Wild Hunt's second half, the war known as Ragnarok.

El Asherah, being the grand ruler of the universe, oversees it, its maintenance, and the lives of the mortals living within it (such as humans, yokai and alien beings.) Likewise, as their king/queen, El Asherah commands the other gods to do his/her bidding; mostly involving keeping a fine balance within the universe, prolonging its security, and dealing with mortal affairs when necessary. Due to Iblis' rebellion and later actions, El Asherah has dedicated him/herself and the forces of Heaven to the defeat of the legions of Hell; stating it is for the protection of the known universe and its inhabitants, be they divine or mortal.

TriviaEdit

  • El Asherah's name was taken from the names of two Canaanite gods; El, and his consort, Asherah. In Canaan, El was the king of the gods, while Asherah was the goddess of motherhood and fertility, and could be considered the queen of the gods through association as El's wife. These names were chosen to reflect El Asherah's androgynous appearance and nature, as well as his/her status as the supreme ruler of Heaven.
